OishiiBox September 2014 Subscription Box Review

Disclaimer: This post may contain referral links.

OishiiBox is a monthly Asian snack subscription box. You get a variety of snack goodies from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and else where! A great thing about this box is that a portion of each purchase goes to UNICEF!

Cost: $12.00 (You can only buy monthly boxes manually for now)
Ships to: U.S.
Ships via: USPS (It took me 4-5 business days). OishiiBox is shipped and delivered within the first two weeks of the month.
Let's move onto the box, shall we?

First look

Here are the items inside the box:

Hello Panda (left): This is vanilla flavored. I prefer the chocolate flavor.
Milkita Assorted Milk Lollipop Candy (middle right)

Hi-Chu (bottom): Oh my goodness! The legitimate Hi-Chew! I got both my JapanCrate and OishiiBox today, and to see the real brand! Yayy :D

Kasugai Flower's Kiss Candy (right): I have a whole bag of this from JapanCrate.

Pretz Roast (left)

Unican Milkita Milk Candy (middle)

Gummy Candy (right): This is apple flavored.

Sonomama Cola Fusen Gum (bottom): Tastes like cola! It has a funny smell at first, but tastes good eventually.

We got two bonus items

Koala Strawberry Milk Biscuit Cookies: I've seen in other OishiiBox reviews, and they've gotten a full size Hello Panda snack, so this is to make up for it.

Plastic Chopsticks

Overall: This month's box was okay. I could find most of these in the Asian market.

First look

This month's box is smaller than July's, but there are full sized snacks ! There was no monthly card included in the box.

Here are the items inside the box:

Oreo Soft Cookies: Meh. This cookie was alright. It's green tea flavored and when I opened it, it looked like a whoopie pie.

Rice Crackers: These tasted really fried and salty.
KitKat: It smelled like coffee when I opened it O:. But I believe this is white chocolate flavored? Either way, I enjoyed it.

Poifull: A Meiji product! These are sour jelly beans in four different flavors: Grape, passion fruit, lemon, and raspberry.

Hello Kitty Biscuits with Chocolate Cream: These are basically like Meiji's Yan Yan. Still delicious!

Pretz Fried: I've never tried Pretz from Thailand, and wow. These aren't bad! Reminds me of the fried bread used in porridge.

Pretz Pizza: Another product from Thailand. You can smell the pizza flavor when you take a piece out. I'm pretty sure the Asian markets around my area doesn't sell these. The closest flavor I can relate to is the tomato flavored Pretz.

Overall: (Oh no, I forgot to take picture of everything together! D: I was really tempted to eat them after I took the photos) Although the box is a lot smaller this month, I enjoyed that we got some full sized snacks!

Most of the chocolate items and Pocky were melted when I received them. :(

This eraser must be a bonus item. It's so cute!

Here are the items inside the box:
*Hopefully I matched most of the items with the correct names!

Otsumami 10 Sen Baked Rice Crackers: There are a variety of pieces here. The fish pieces sort of threw off the flavor of the others, but I enjoyed these.

Lotte Waffle: These are excellent. It has this vanilla-like taste to it. Maybe chocolate/nutella would be good with this!

Super Soda: The Super Soda candy is sour, but I enjoyed it.

White Rabbit Creamy Candy: I definitely enjoyed these milk candy. The only down part to it was that it would get stuck on your teeth.

Chocolate Panda Biscuits: There is white chocolate and chocolate on the biscuits. I just wished there was more than four pieces.

Umaibou Vegetable Salad: This is my FAVORITE. At first, I hesitated to eat, because it had a fishy smell, but when I ate it. Wow. I need to find these at a Japanese market. These remind me of Cheese Doodles.

Strawberry Pocky: Yeahh POCKY! I would love to try other flavors other than strawberry and chocolate. (But most of the other Pocky flavors are usually expensive)

Kameda Kakinotane Wasabi Snack: I'm not a big fan of wasabi, so I gave this to my relative. I did try one piece though. Even though I ate one piece, you could taste the wasabi.
Lotte Koala's March: This is similar to the Meiji Hello Panda Chocolate snacks. I'm glad I got a bag of this, because a box of Koala's March is pretty expensive compared to a box of Hello Panda.

Strawberry Kit Kat: Meh. The Kit Kat is good, but this flavor... it was alright. The strawberry flavor was too sweet. I enjoyed the Strawberry Pocky better.

Matcha Green Tea Kit Kat: I prefer this than the crunch one.

Matcha Green Tea Crunch: This piece was really small. The matcha green tea flavor was a bit more stronger than the kit kat version.

Fusen Melon Gum: I remember enjoying this gum when I was younger. I also enjoyed the orange and strawberry flavor.
Lotte Choco Pie: This was the worst one out of all the snacks. It tasted dry and flaky, I had to throw this out after a bite.

Baby Cookie Snack: Another snack I thought was alright. There's not really much flavor in this, but my relative enjoyed this.
Overall:

I enjoyed most of these snacks this month. Do I think this is worth $12? I'm not sure. I've never tried 2-3 of these items, and I can find almost all of these snacks in Asian markets around my area.
